Everyone loves to save money, especially when it comes to eating healthy and grocery shopping. So today I am sharing some tips to help keep your wallet full and your body healthy! These are so easy to implement and a great way to eliminate waste.

1.Use the tops of vegetables for broth- Chopping up things like carrots, celery or other vegetables that typically have the tops cut off for a recipe? Save those small tidbits and add them to freezer bag or glass container. Next time you go to make homemade broth you can toss them in for more flavor!

2.Save your bacon grease-This is one of my favorite hacks! When you cook with nitrate free bacon, take the leftover grease and pour it into a glass jar, and let it cool. Store in the refrigerator and the next time you cook you can use the fat to grease the pan and add a new flavor to your recipe. I love saving it and using it for home fries on the weekend or to cook this soup recipe.

3.Save the seeds from squashes- Anytime you bake a squash you can scoop out the seeds and rinse them. Then lay them on a pan and drizzle with oil and any desired spices! It’s just like roasting those pumpkin seeds at halloween when you carve your pumpkin and they make a great snack, loaded with health benefits throughout the week.
